MCM-04 Balance is a contemporary wall object that combines Buldan’s natural linen-cotton weaving tradition with bio-based, industrially biodegradable 3D printing materials. The convergence of fabric and three-dimensional forms on the same production surface reinterprets traditional materials through an innovative and sustainable design lens.
In the composition, geometric and organic color blocks expanding in different directions are balanced around a strong central axis. The use of opposing directions, color transitions, and negative space gives the design a controlled tension, while the overall composition creates a balanced and rhythmic structure.
Developed as part of the MCM Series, each piece reflects DOU Craft Studio’s approach of bringing together traditional textile production with contemporary digital manufacturing techniques.
