Real solid walnut is used in the top and supporting legs of VELEN. The natural grains and surface character of the wood are left as perceptible as possible under the black application.

GROOVED & SCULPTURAL LEG DESIGN
The characteristic design detail of VELEN is its special geometry solid walnut legs. Vertical grooves are applied only to the leg surfaces. Recurring channels create light and shadow movements on the black surface, adding depth to the leg geometry. The upper top is intentionally left plain and smooth, with no grooves or decorative processing. The design balance of VELEN is thus formed by the plain solid walnut top and the sculptural fluted legs.
