Nirea explores the relationship between surface, thickness, and light through translucent porcelain. While digital design tools create continuous waves along the surface, gradual transitions between thin and thick walls create varying light permeabilities, revealing a subtle interplay of light and shadow.
While the complexity of the design is concentrated in the surface texture, the overall forms are kept simple and plain. Thus, the fundamental element determining the character of each piece becomes the surface itself.
