This 42 cm high ceramic vase, meticulously crafted on a potter's wheel, was inspired by the famous miniatures of Nasuh Matrakçı, depicting Suleiman the Magnificent's campaign to Iran. The design brings the rich color world, meticulous detail, and geographical narrative power of that era to contemporary tile art.
Matrakçı Nasuh documented the first Iranian campaign of Suleiman the Magnificent between 1533 and 1536 with miniatures in his work titled ‘Beyân-ı Menâzil-i Sefer-i Irâkeyn-i Sultan Süleyman Han’.
