The
Sumerians called Anu the god of the sky, the god of heaven, the lord of the constellations, the king of the gods. The god Marduk, Anu's representative on earth, was the patron god of Babylon. In 3000 BC, the Sumerians built the Mount of God, one of the seven wonders of the world, the Tower of Babel, with seven floors. They believed that they could see Marduk on the seventh floor and reach the sky.
