WHISKY
It's a WHISKY, kind of weekend.
Whiskey derives from the Irish and Scottish word "uisge beatha" meaning "Water of Life". M.S. The first examples emerged as a result of the monks who migrated from the European mainland to the continent of Ireland and Scotland, which lacked vineyards in 1000-1200 years, fermenting and distilling grain porridge in monasteries. The first written record of the word whiskey appears in Ireland's Clonmacnoise Annuals. It is written in the annals that a monarch died after taking an excessive amount of uisge beatha on Christmas night.
