Why are different bar sizes used?
4 mm, 6 mm, and 8 mm bar sizes are used for piercings. An 8 mm bar is preferred due to potential swelling after the initial piercing. After the healing process, approximately 2 months later, a 6 mm or 4 mm bar can be used depending on the area and comfort.
