The Subaşı Bronze Ring is dedicated to the character Subaşı in Altar Kaplan's novel 'Halifeler Köyü'. The stern attitude of this official, who accompanied judges and scribes, reflects the relationship with authority during the census journey. The overlapping wide pieces of the ring form a shield-like surface on a circular band. Soft curves and a distinct outer line emphasize the form itself rather than ornamentation.
