Mittra, in Proto-Marathi preserves the literal meaning in the sense of a “long term friend” with one of the aspects also respresenting rebirth and joy by virtue of its roots in ancient Sanskrit as the “Rising Sun”.  Mittra brand born out of founder Ela Dagli’s passion for procreativity and productivity after having spent many years in corporate life as a seasoned professional.  She has attended numerous workshops to feed her curiosity and interest in manufacturing.  When her passion for handbags intersected with her desire for traditional handmade products and their uniqueness, she has shifted her spare time hobby in crocheted handcrafts into a new business of her passion giving birth to Mittra. Mittra is a slowfashion brand since its startup in 2017. We produce limited number of products every season. Although the cost of production in this concept is high we have the concious that the cost of mass production to the environment is higher. Instead of supplying high number of products to the extremely demanding and consumpting society, our primary objective is to provide limited number of artisan bags produced in a niche and creative business model to the women those have the same perspective. Each and every single bag in the collection is hand made by women and all models in the collection named after them to honor these talented artisans for their contribution the brand. We hope that our handbags become your Mittra and bring you a handful of joy, prosperity, inner strength, love and laughter. Each bag slightly varies from one to another in shape or size since each of them handmade by artisans.
