Blackwing

Blackwing was first introduced in the 1930s by Eberhard Faber. It quickly became a favorite among artists, writers, and musicians thanks to its soft, dark graphite and iconic rectangular eraser. John Steinbeck, Chuck Jones (the animator behind Looney Tunes), and many other creatives swore by it. However, in 1998, production ceased. This sparked disappointment among fans, and vintage Blackwing pencils began selling for high prices among collectors. In the early 2000s, California Cedar Products Company (CalCedar), based in California, decided to revive the legendary pencil. Led by Charles Berolzheimer, they reimagined the Blackwing with a modern design, bringing it back to life in 2010 under the name Palomino Blackwing 602. Today, Blackwing is more than just a pencil—it's a symbol of creativity and craftsmanship. With a growing range of notebooks, accessories, and limited edition products, the brand continues to inspire creative communities around the world.
