Atelier Simurg

The story of Simurg began in the winter of 2001, when I was in my last year of studying at the Ceramics Department, with my first studio that was shabby but warm and sincere. Since then, it has continued for 24 years in my hometown of Izmir, then Trabzon and now Istanbul, with more experience and strength. During this time, I realized that introducing the art of Iznik ceramics and explaining its importance had become my most important mission, so courses and workshops always existed in my studio, next to production. As a woman who produces and teaches in her studio every day, and as a single mother, I worked with great pleasure and dedication, with all my energy, to nurture and grow my brand with care and to ensure that my brand reflected me and my perspective on life. For me, Simurg was and continues to be a story of self-discovery, just like in the story.
