Seçil Özelmas She had training on hand weaving and carpet design. And for the past 17 years, she expresses herself in her carpets and rugs and tries to add beauty to each moment. Interpreting traditional motives with innovative textures is one of the subjects she has been working on for many years. And Anatolian and Antique Age civilizations are her special areas of interest. She interpreted her interest into carpet design and created the Ancient Rug Collection Gilam Kilim Collection Anatolia, with its blend of cultures and civilizations, presents us extraordinarily beautiful kilims, which are characterized by strong abstractions and improvisations. As a product of the abstract art of Anatolia, kilims let us witness a charming journey from the traditional to the universal. Kilims are an ‘atlas of symbols’, which give expression to memories in the form of beautiful motifs and a rich range of colors. In these kilims, as well as timeless myths and mystical fables, personal stories are also given expression to in symbolic language. These have been woven by traditional methods for centuries, the ‘Gilam’ kilim collection is inspired by these wealthy sources.
