Studio Burntshell

Studio Burntshell is a bio-based material research and design studio that transforms degradable materials into handmade objects. Currently, the studio produces handmade objects using its own material recipe developed from eggshells collected from local bakeries. Rooted in sustainability, Burntshell approaches product design through material R&D, exploring how alternative materials can evolve through experimentation and interdisciplinary practice. Burntshell believes designers are responsible for the full life cycle of what they create—including its after-consumption phase. Through each object, the studio highlights the raw beauty of the material and the simplicity of its making process, creating a more meaningful connection between material, product, and user.
