Royal Botania was founded in Belgium in 1992 by engineers Kris Van Puyvelde and Frank Boschman. At a time when plastic garden furniture dominated the market, they set out to offer a more refined, durable, and aesthetically sophisticated alternative for outdoor living spaces. Their first teak furniture collection sold out within just one week along the Belgian coast, marking the beginning of the Royal Botania brand. Soon after, the company moved beyond importing furniture and began designing its own collections. From the mid-1990s onward, Royal Botania expanded into international markets and developed a distinctive identity within the luxury outdoor furniture sector. By combining teak with materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, and high-performance outdoor fabrics, the brand introduced a contemporary and innovative approach to exterior design. Iconic collections such as Ninix played an important role in establishing Royal Botania’s global reputation for ergonomics, functionality, and refined design. Over the years, Royal Botania strengthened its control over production by establishing its own manufacturing facilities in Thailand and expanding its international distribution network. Today, the brand’s portfolio includes not only outdoor furniture, but also lighting, parasols, and planters. Its products are used in private residences, luxury hotels, restaurants, resorts, and yachts around the world.
