Ipek Sakız Ceramic emerged as a natural extension of the ceramic practice I developed during my Fine Arts education and the connection I established with the material. I see ceramics not just as a production technique; it's a space for expression that makes emotions, stories, and the small rituals of life visible. I produce my designs using stoneware clay, which stands out for its high durability and suitability for use. Thanks to the high-temperature firing of stoneware, the products transform into sturdy and long-lasting objects suitable for daily use. Each piece is handcrafted from the design stage to shaping, glazing, and firing. Designs inspired by table culture, coffee rituals, nature, and animals combine functionality, timeless forms, and the natural texture of ceramics. Thanks to the handmade production process, each product carries unique subtle differences. I carry out my productions under the umbrella of Sakız Studio, which I founded with my sister, a tile artist. By bringing ceramics and tiles together in the same production space, we create original design objects, and we continue to share this production culture through workshops.
