Dorian's smooth glass body, rather than completely hiding the layers within, leaves them subtly visible. This semi-open structure allows it to carry a deeper and somewhat distant character beneath its simple form. This openness created by the glass transforms the product from merely being a table lamp into an object that is rediscovered from different angles.
