iRobot

Founded in the USA in 1990 by Colin Angle, Helen Greiner and Rodney Brooks, iRobot is a company specializing in robot technology. The company, which was founded as a result of research conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) artificial intelligence laboratory, is famous worldwide, especially for its smart robot vacuum cleaners called Roomba. Launched in 2002, Roomba became an important product that popularized home automation. Over time, iRobot also developed Braava (floor-cleaning robot) and robots for military/institutional use.
