Some paths take you to places you never expected. Mine began in a completely different sector, in tourism and hospitality, yet it led me to the heart of art, to the soul of creation. I still remember the very first moment I breathed in that scent inside my husband’s studio—he is a sculptor and leather artist. Surrounded by leather, craftsmanship, and quietly growing dreams, something inside me whispered: “You can do this too.” And I chose to follow that voice. About 15 years ago, this journey began with just a small piece of leather. It first took shape through my own brand, Deriart. With each piece that came to life in my hands, I discovered myself anew. The more I created, the freer I felt; the more I shared, the stronger I became. But in time, I realized that this should not be a solitary path. Knowledge only gains meaning when it is shared. That is why, five years ago, I dreamed another dream: a platform where women could come together, create, and support one another. And so, Design Company (Tasarım Kumpanyası) was born. At first, we were just a few volunteer women in İzmir. Yet, our belief in what we were doing was immense. I shared everything I knew—about e-commerce, product development, market research. Together, we learned; together, we achieved. In time, this strength spread across Turkey. During the pandemic, with the messages and applications from women everywhere, I woke up one day and realized something: I was no longer alone. We had become a reality. Today, Deriart remains my personal brand, the one I continue to nurture with passion. But a piece of my heart beats inside Design Company. Because it is more than a platform—it is a place where hopes, dreams, and effort come together. In every design I create, there is a little bit of myself, a little bit of us, and a little bit of my journey. Because this story is not mine alone. It is a path where women walk together, where they become light for one another. And on this path, we keep moving forward—growing, creating, and multiplying with every step…
