Nirea explores the relationship between surface, thickness, and light through translucent porcelain. While continuous waves are created along the surface using digital design tools, gradual transitions between thin and thick walls create varying degrees of light permeability, revealing a subtle interplay of light and shadow.
While the complexity of the design is concentrated in the surface texture, the overall forms are kept simple and plain. Thus, the surface itself becomes the fundamental element defining the character of each piece.
