MCM-05 Rhythm is produced with bio-based 3D printing applied directly onto natural linen-cotton fabric woven in Buldan, which is biodegradable under appropriate industrial conditions. The combination of natural textile texture and layered digital production gives the product a unique tactile and three-dimensional character.
In the composition, organic forms placed in different scales and directions create a fluid movement along the surface. The repeating yet not identical structure of the forms gives the design a rhythmic and dynamic character. The contrast between the natural texture of the fabric and the voluminous surface of the 3D print strengthens the depth of the composition.
Each piece developed within the MCM Series reflects the DOU Craft Studio design approach, which brings together traditional textile production with contemporary digital production techniques.
