This unique side table is a reimagined chrome raw material hopper from a decommissioned plastic injection machine that served our facility for decades.
The chrome lower base has been meticulously polished. The tabletop core is cut from an antique table, while the surface is crafted from reclaimed pallet wood. These wooden planks have been treated using the traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique, finished with colorant and a matte varnish.
Even the flange parts connecting the main base to the hopper are produced from reclaimed wood. The metal strip surrounding the top is made from vintage roof zinc that has weathered outdoor conditions for over 30 years. The only new elements are the small nails and tacks used in assembly.
Traces of its past life have been intentionally preserved. The scratches and old paint marks on the hopper and zinc band are not defects, but integral parts of the design's character.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece that cannot be replicated. It will remain a unique item in your private collection.
