All Mihanikî products are produced by hand, with special attention, and once they are purchased, they want to get the same attention by their new owners. Please keep the Mihanikî products in their own boxes or separate from each other, thus preventing them from drawing each other and extending their life. To protect the color of the bronze, we recommend that you remove it with a soft cloth after removing it (yes, whenever possible). Your bronze pieces will become more ancient in time. If you want to avoid this ancient blackout, you can clean the plug with the sponge inside your box.

Sophia's interest in jewelry was not restricted to her own ornaments. She managed the jewels and the economy of the entire Byzantine Empire, as she was responsible of budgetary reforms and running of the treasury.

Nomisma Collection is a tribute to the powerful women in the Roman and Byzantine empires. My intention with the series was to design new, imagined coins that those women would have wanted to wear for they would reflect the strong self-image of the women of antiquity. These women’s assertive and powerful character is represented with various mediations of bronze and brass.
