Moda Silk Scarf Fular

This beautiful scarf is crafted in the UK from 100% silk twill with hand-rolled edges. The scarf is part of a limited edition.

The vibrant red and green design is named ‘Moda’, a combination of the words ‘Mother’ and ‘Daughter’, and celebrates the paisley patterns found on Persian rugs. In this iteration of the classic motif, a smaller paisley, the ‘daughter’ is encased by a larger ‘mother’ design.

Although the paisley design is seen as distinctively Indian, the almond-like form, the buta, is of Persian origin and is thought to have been a representation of a floral spray combined with a cypress tree, a Zoroastrian symbol of life and eternity.
